Sigma delta is an architecture of ADC that can be well realized applying great-affordable CMOS processes, like a processes utilized to create digital integrated circuits.

Principle
A principle of a sigma-delta architecture is to produce rough in evaluations of the signal, to measure the error, integrate it then compensate for that error. A mean output value is so capable a mean input value in case the integral of the error is finite.
